Introduction
Hoopcity
is a basketball magazine that was launched in Australia during April '08.

With a focus towards Australian basketball, while covering all aspects of the game, Hoopcity is unlike any other hoops magazine in the world. The magazine is open to the community; meaning that your voice, support and contributions will help play a major role in the growth of Hoopcity and basketball in Australia.

Hoopcity covers the NBA, NBL, WNBL, local leagues, local talent, international talent, street-basketball, inspirational stories, training advice and anything else in the game that deserves to be recognised. Hoopcity has something for all ages, fans and aspects of the sport, as basketball is more than one dimensional.

The Magazine
Hoopcity is a unique sized magazine, half the size of a regular mag which makes it a convenient read and easier to keep in good condition, especially for a player who does a lot of travelling. Hoopcity Issue 01 is 64-pages full of content with minimal advertising that is relevant. Hoopcity Issue 02 will be expanding to 72-pages.

The Mission
Hoopcity represents the voice of basketball on all levels. While the NBA is the best league in the world, we believe that there is so much more about the game that deserves to be promoted, especially here in Australia.

For years, basketball in Australia has had a lack of respect and coverage in the media. And for years, we felt that if the media weren't going to give the sport any respect, we, the basketball community, needed to create our own media.

Hoopcity aims to inspire people with stories and interviews that leave you feeling motivated and knowing the players more personally. At the end of each article, we want readers to feel inspired to drop the mag and head out to the court to work on their game, or take their friends and family out to an NBL or WNBL game.

The Hoopcity Team
Hoopcity is a magazine by MSF Basketball, a group based in Melbourne - Australia that has been working on projects to help the game and the players since 2002. The team behind Hoopcity are passionate about basketball and doing whatever it takes to help bring the sport back to where it always belonged. Some of the country's best basketball photographers and journalists have put their hand up to join the Hoopcity team... To see the full team behind Hoopcity - click here

Hoopcity Magazine: to promote the game and inspire

"The number one vision behind Hoopcity is simple; to promote basketball in Australia on all levels, by giving credit where credit is due" says Hoopcity Magazine founder, David Coles.

"Basketball is one of the most played sports in Australia, an Aussie was the number 1 pick in the '05 NBA Draft and our women's national team is ranked 2nd in the world, yet the sport still seems to be lacking respect in the national media.."
