Hoop City Geelong

Ally has spent the last two years at Hofstra University, Long Island, New York following two seasons at University of North Florida. Ally also played VJBL for Geelong United prior to her stint overseas and represented Victoria Country in her Under 16 years. Ally helps with our Girls Gold Program and is available for one-on-one coaching

Brent, aka 'Stretch' started playing basketball when he was five years old. He has played at most elite levels in Victoria including seven years of SEABL (now NBL1) and played one season in the United Arab Emirates while working there. He is currently the Head Coach of the Australian 'Goannas', the Australian Deaf Men's Basketball Team and an Assistant Coach for Geelong United Men's Team in NBL1.

Nick is a legend of Geelong basketball after playing 16 seasons with Geelong United in the NBL1 competition. He also holds 10+ years of coaching experience. Nick heads up the Gold program at Hoop City Geelong. If you are looking for sessions between 6am - 8am then Nick is your guy!

Maalo is a current member of the Geelong United NBL1 team and has a great amount of experience both playing and coaching at a very high level.

Chantel comes to Hoop City with an impressive resume, the 6’2 wing spent time at the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, before a 5-year collegiate career at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). After the commencement of her time at UCLA Chantel spent time with the LA Sparks in the WNBA before heading to Europe to play in Poland, Turkey and is currently playing for Spanish powerhouse Avenida. Chantel made her Australian Opals debut in 2023 helping Australia win a bronze medal in the Asia Cup. Chantel is now playing with the Melbourne Tigers in the NBL1 after playing with Geelong United last year. Chantel runs our All Girls sessions at Hoop City Geelong.

Seth is a Geelong Junior who currently plays with Geelong United Youth League and NBL1 team. Seth joins the team with experience from the US college system.

Demarcus is our Venue Manager and Head of Basketball at Geelong Hoop City. Demarcus is currently in his 8th season with Geelong United in the NBL1 and is currently the captain. He played Division 1 in the US College system and has 7+ years of coaching/training experience.

George is a Geelong Junior who boasts experience from the AIS, US division 1 college, NBL (Cairns Taipans) and European basketball competitions. George has returned from recently playing in Europe to once again play for Geelong United in the NBL1.
