Tamsyn Thorley
Coach
Tamsyn is currently playing at McKinnon Cougars in the Youth League team. She also coaches the U16 girls at McKinnon. She played her junior career in Queensland with the Southern District Spartans before making the move to Melbourne. Tamsyn wants to take what she has learnt from the mentors and previous coaches she has had and pass those skills onto the next group of young athletes.
Andy Lim
Head of Basketball
Andy's role is to work with our athletes to ensure we are offering elite programs and on court sessions that are targeted towards both individual skill + holistic development. He is currently the VYCM Youth League coach at Sandringham Sabres, and has recently held positions as U18s Assistant Coach for Victoria Metro and is currently the Video Coordinator/Development Coach for Melbourne United in the NBL.
Fraser Kennedy
Coach
Fraser is a former Big V player for Camberwell Dragons and is currently in his second season as Head Coach of the Camberwell Youth League men's team. He has been fortunate enough to be mentored by some of Australia's most highly esteemed Basketball Coaches and strives to implement their teachings in his own coaching.
Al Westover
Coach
Al is best known for his tenure with the Melbourne Tigers in the National Basketball League (NBL), where he coached the team to four consecutive Grand Finals, winning two championships, and being the second winningest coach in league history. Westover also played for the Melbourne Tigers in their inaugural season in the NBL. He then travelled to Shiga Lakestars of the Basketball Japan (BJ) League in ŌtsuCity, Shiga. In his first year with the Lakestars, Westover helped the club reach their highest number of wins in their seven-year history, and to the second round of the play-offs where they lost to eventual champions, Okinawa.
Livai Smith
Coach
Livai has played NBL1 and Big V for the last several years. Most recently he has found his way onto the 3x3 international circuit and is currently working at making into the FIBA World Tour. His passion for coaching and development stems from his love of the game. Currently he is Head of Basketball Development at Melbourne Grammar School. He's also a Coach and Regional Coordinator for the Victorian segment of the Indigenous Basketball Association and is currently the third best ranked 3x3 player in the country.
Jen Flack
Strength & Conditioning Coach
Jen has been a strength and conditioning coach for three years and has experience working in NBL1 with the Frankston Blues. She is passionate about helping players get stronger, more fit and be able to stay injury free and on the court. Whether it be taking your game to the next level, returning from injury or just general health and fitness goals Jen is here to help.
Josh McQueen
Coach
Josh is a former McKinnon Cougars junior that currently coaches at Hoop City Cheltenham and plays for McKinnon Cougars in the Big V.
Tom Carroll
Coach
Tom represents the Netherlands U20 National team and currently plays with the McKinnon Cougars.
Jay Ellis
Strength & Conditioning Coach
