Hoop City offers a professional training experience and our coaches are Internationally and Nationally accredited. The Hoop City coaching Panel will deliver all participants with best in class curriculum and the opportunity to raise your game.

Technical Director

Justin Schueller

Justin brings an extensive level of knowledge and expertise in the field of player development to Hoop City. Justin is a current Junior National Team Head Coach, a NBL Assistant Coach and a NBL1 Head Coach. Justin previously held the roles of Lead Coach/Director of High Performance Programs and Pathways for two state bodies (VIC & TAS).

Dillon Stith

Dillon brings a wealth of basketball experience to Hoop City. A former NCAA All-American and six-year professional with seasons played in Europe, as well as Australian leagues NBL1 and NBL. Specialising in player development, Dillon has coached at the club representative level for five years winning multiple Victorian championships.

Warrick Giddey

Wazza (as he is known) comes to Hoop City with over 45 years of experience as a player and coach. A veteran of 449 NBL games, Wazza had his #6 jersey retired by the Melbourne Tigers for his contribution to the club throughout their dominated years in the 90s. After retirement Wazza has been an active Junior Coach within the Melbourne Tigers Junior Program, and he is currently the Lead Coach for Melbourne United's Academy and Community Programs.

Anthony Karabatsos

Four Year college starter with Seton Hill University, previously a Melbourne Tigers Junior representative, where he has returned this year to play NBL1.

Belinda Snell

Head Coach

Belinda Snell

As a player, Belinda represented Australia for over 15 years, during a very successful era for the Opals which yielded 3 Olympic Games Medals, 2 Commonwealth Games Gold Medals, and a World Championship title (2006). Belinda also won a WNBA Championship, EuroLeague Championship and multiple WNBL titles. Belinda was a quality shooter and still holds the record for the most points scored in a WNBL Game when she scored 54 points (including 12 3s) against Perth in 2005. Now retired from playing, Belinda is the current Women's Head Coach of NBL1 club, Frankston Blues, and is an Assistant Coach with the WNBL club Southside Flyers.

Jay Ellis

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Jay Ellis

Jay has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Human Movement, a Master’s Degree In Sport Science/Strength and Conditioning and is a registered Level 2 Coach of the ASCA (Australian Strength and Conditioning Association). Jay has spent time working within the AFL/VFL (Collingwood and Melbourne), ABL (Australian Baseball League) and overseas within US College Football (NC State), whilst Jay is currently working with Melbourne United (NBL) and Frankston Blues (NBL1).
